Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Tuesday that it will publish its advance estimate for second-quarter gross domestic product on July 10 at 8 a.m.
The ministry said in a statement that the second-quarter estimates will be largely made up of data from April and May.
Singapore's economy grew at a 7.6 percent annualized pace in the first quarter, easing from a 7.9 percent gain in the previous three months, the ministry said in May.
Citigroup Inc., in a report released yesterday, says Singapore's economy will grow faster this year than earlier estimated because of a stronger-than- expected rebound in manufacturing.
The US$134 billion economy will probably expand 6.6 percent in 2007, quickening from an earlier forecast of 6.2 percent, Citigroup's Singapore-based economist Chua Hak Bin wrote in a report published yesterday. Growth is still expected to lag behind last year's rate of 7.9 percent.
